Builder

I am drawn to building new things.

Alongside my executive leadership work, I create and develop ventures that explore new ideas, markets, and ways of solving meaningful problems.

My ventures reflect a consistent theme throughout my career: identifying opportunities others overlook and turning them into tangible offerings.

These experiences strengthen my perspective as a strategist. Building from zero sharpens decision-making, deepens customer empathy, and reinforces the importance of aligning vision, execution, and commercial reality.

My Ventures

Kids Swag

Kids Swag began as a passion project inspired by my own experience as a parent. What started as an idea evolved into a brand focused on celebrating individuality and confidence in kids through thoughtfully designed products. Creating Kids Swag allowed me to apply the same strategic principles I use in enterprise environments: identifying unmet customer needs, developing differentiated offerings, and building brand and community from the ground up. Whether inside large organizations or through independent ventures, my work is ultimately about the same thing: creating momentum where opportunity meets execution.

Black Women Swim

Black Women Swim started in response to a group of black women in Toronto expressing an interest, but also an apprehension, to learn how to swim. I started a Facebook group to support these women as well as herself in her swim journey. To date the group has over 1K members!

Mindful Representation

I coined the term Mindful Representation.

Mindful Representation is a practice inspired by the concept of Mindfulness. Mindful Representation means being intentional about the images, words and experiences that a child engages in to gain a greater sense of self and an appreciation of others.

Kimberlee created the Mindful Representation Guide in June 2020 in response to the murder of George Floyd and request from the Kids Swag community on what could they do to help educate their kids about being anti-racist.
